Thanks for clicking on that button!

It makes me feel good to know that you’re actually interested in finding out something about me. Or maybe you clicked it by mistake, and now you’re looking for the back button… either way, you’re here now, so please allow me to introduce myself.

I’m Tom Schieber, a proud husband, father and second generation East Bay REALTOR.

The short version: I was raised in Fremont, California, went to college at Westmont in Santa Barbara, moved to the Rocky Mountains upon graduation where I met a girl. Four jobs, three kids and two Broncos Superbowls later, I was lured back to the East Bay by the family real estate business.

It’s been a wild ride, to say the least. So many amazing things have happened – in business and in life – the past five years feels like fifty in some respects. My babies have turned into kids, my job’s turned into a career, my business a lifestyle. My wife’s become my best friend, my best friend’s become like a brother. Brentwood has become my home, and my home has become this crazy place full of dolls and bikes and make-believe Hanna Montana concerts.

I’ve turned into a REALTOR, like my dad. He’s taught me everything, and I’ve learned the rest on my own. It’s a careful balance of everything he is and everything I want to be.

And if you check back here once in a while and search through the posts, you’ll get a feel for what my life is like. You might find it funny at some points, insightful at others. You’ll learn about my obsession with the Rockies, how my girls brighten every day, and if you read all the posts in between, you might learn something about the real estate business as well. You’ll certainly find out what I’m like, what I do and what I think about any number of things. And that’s why I’m doing this.

Sure, the blog is supposed to be about business. But the real estate business is about people. And it’s about homes. And it’s about families (all different kinds). In that sense, all these posts are are about business – my business, the “family” business.
