Foreclosure Alternatives
The current economic environment has created challenges for us all. The decline in property values all around the Bay Area has impacted home owners in very serious, sometimes devastating ways. As a full-time real estate professional, I’ve had plenty of first-hand experience dealing with individuals and families faced with the hard realities of making decisions around their homes and their mortgage loans.
In an effort to make certain that I can continue to serve as a knowledgeable and reliable resource for all of my clients and friends, I have recently completed a certification course focused on the federal government’s new Making Home Affordable home retention and foreclosure alternative programs.
The good news is that there are now more options than ever before for homeowners in distress. The government’s HAMP loan modification programs can keep families in their homes permanently with lower, more affordable payments. And when keeping the home is no longer an option, HAFA guidelines have finally standardized processes, timelines, and terms for expedited short sales and deed-in-lieu programs. The HAFA program also provides financial assistance up to $3,000.00 to cover moving
and other related expenses.
The fact is that most homeowners facing a hardship wait too long to evaluate their options, and end up limiting their ability to work out a graceful exit and avoid foreclosure. So please, if you know someone who may need my help in determining their best course of action, have them call me right away (925-487-3172). I am always available, and will never pressure or obligate anyone into a transaction that is not in their best interest.
