Brentwood Civic Center April 2010

Brentwood’s new Downtown Civic Center project is well under way. The project, which has been in the works for several years, received final approval last year and broke ground just a few months ago. Now the actual structures can be seen taking shape as a giant crane lifts steel beams into place over City Park.

The $36 million project is expected to be finished in late 2011 and will include a new City Hall, Council Chambers and Community Center. A new parking structure will also be part of the project which, along with a downtown “streetscape” initiative designed to encourage more shopping and outdoor dining, will certainly re-define Downtown Brentwood – for the best in my opinion.
